About our Psychotherapist

Antoinette Mallen B.A. Psychotherapy & Counselling, MIACP

Having completed a B.A in Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2013, I have been supporting clients in private practice for almost a decade. I have since then completed many additional certifications. Continued professional development is something I am committed to, ongoing training for me is key to ensure I am keeping up to date with new therapy modalities to ensure I offer the best possible service to clients.

I have most recently (March 2022) completed a year long intensive certification in Bio-Emotional Decoding.

I have qualifications in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

I have post graduate training with MRCS (Relationships Ireland) in Couples Counselling.

I have completed a certificate in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy.

In 2022 I also qualified as a Shamanic & Soul Retr Practitioner.

I am a fully accredited Psychotherapist with the IACP; The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My work is fully supervised by an IACP accredited supervisor to ensure best practice.

I am trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) and Children’s First, I have also completed numerous workshops in relation to autism and Aspergers.

I have experience in various other clinical settings for general counselling such as Aspen Counselling Mullingar, SOSAD Tullamore in suicide intervention work, St Catherine's Counselling Tallaght and with Youth Advocate Programme as a youth advocate. I currently also work in a voluntary capacity with AIRC Midlands as Family Support Co-coordinator supporting families with disabilities.

What I help with

With experience in a wide range of issues such as anxiety, addiction, assertiveness, bereavement, couples counselling, depression, group facilitation, relationships, stress, suicide intervention, sexual issues and more. I offer a therapeutic counselling approach tailored to the individual needs of the client.

I have in the past facilitated workshops in relation to anxiety and also group psychotherapy facilitation for carers of those with disabilities. I can tailor workshops for business or group setting based on the unique need of the group. Feel free to contact me for further information.

Our philosophy of psychotherapy

What I offer as part of the services here at Cú Chulainn is a non judgmental          supportive space to explore what is holding clients back, to give meaning to past experiences and help clients move forward in a positive way. My aim is to empower clients to uncover the strength which we all have within us and ultimately to move forward in living a fuller, happier life. Having my own past experiences with anxiety, gives me in-depth unique insight as a psychotherapist, which you can read about on Cú Chulainn's facebook page.
